1. The selection of the appropriate product is essential to obtain optimal visibility results of the product on display, according to its main characteristics.

Not all LEDs are the same and do not highlight colors in the same way. Infrico Supermarket already determines the technical requirements of the solution to be used and selects the data for each location of the most suitable light source for use.

The LED is different depending on its location in the display case and the necessary light distribution.

We´ll talk about LEDs with 170º aperture optics for vertical lighting, 90º for horizontal lighting.

Color temperature

We always must select the appropriate color temperature for each use and select it according to the product to be displayed.

Although this can be variable, we enclose this small basic selection guide:

• White 4000K, is the most common in food and is generally used for products such as dairy products, fruit and vegetables, ready meals, packaged fish…
• Warm White 3000K extends its use to bakeries, cheese and hot products.
• Meat Color It does not have a fixed color temperature and mainly highlights the reds and whites of meat.
• Cool, white 6000K is normally used for frozen products.

Therefore, you can select in refrigeration the colors white 4000K, warm white 3000K and meat color depending on your need and the type of product to be displayed. In freezing the color is always cool white 6000K.

3. Uniformity is key to the sensation of light perceived by the human eye.

Therefore, whenever possible, we should select the configuration that allows us to make this distribution uniform.

Vertical lighting

The distance from the point of light to the product to be highlighted in vertical furniture is very important for the optics to distribute the lighting uniformly.

When we talk about vertical display cases with doors and we select as a lighting option the vertical illumination, it´s very important to maintain a linear distance >168 mm between the LED and the product to be displayed to obtain the best light distribution in the display case. This determines the ideal shelf to be mounted in the display cases from the lighting point of view.

Shelf lighting

At Infrico Supermarket we have a patented system of shelf price holders with built-in LED lighting.

This patent increases the functionality, to the evident of being a means of support to hold and make visible the price, with the complementary function of housing the LED lighting without auxiliary means and allows to always illuminate the product on its front side, which is the promotional side, increasing its efficiency.

Wherever possible:

1. Medium light intensity enhances product shelf life and premium light intensity enhances product visibility.

Always try to take these factors into account when selecting light intensity, wherever possible, trying to balance product visibility, energy consumption and optimal product preservation:

• Select the shelf dimension on door display cases to maintain the optimum distance to the light source.
• Select the intensity: standard or premium

2. In freezer cabinets the standard intensity of the upright LEDs is the optimal intensity due to the combination of the cool white 6000K color and the number of LEDs.

3. The shelf lighting in all models and the canopy lighting in the low multideck display cases should always be of standard intensity as it provides optimum lighting without penalizing product conservation and energy consumption.
