Grupo Infrico participates in Eurovent meeting in Madrid to develop a proposal on eco-design criteria for refrigerator display cases.

AEFYT, the reference cold association in Spain acted as host, the objective is to help define a reference model for a standardized proposal on energy requirements of refrigerator display cases. The meeting was held on 17 and 18 September and brought together Eurovent’s Commercial Refrigeration Equipment Group to determine the parameters that refrigeration cases must follow in order to define future energy standards in their design. Eurovent, European Industry Association for Indoor Air Conditioning (HVAC), Process Refrigeration and Food Chain Technologies, worked on some aspects not defined in the EN/ISO23953-2 standard and/or which need to be clarified for the performance of cases efficiency tests. Among others, the construction criteria of the display cases and its equipment for the standardization of the tests, cases with defrosting with hot gas and/or with defrosting processes superior to 24h, aspects related to the calculation of the TDA of exhibitors with doors and gross volume, the methodology on the refrigerants with high sliding that influence the criteria of ecodesign. In this regard, the target of the meeting was to determine the equipment, accessories and configurations that are not completely defined in the annex referring to refrigerator furniture of the EN/ISO23953-2 standard. Proposals will be issued to list the elements not included in the standard, the efficiency parameters that must be taken into account and the eco-efficiency models that can be extrapolated to help define the reference model and make a standardised proposal for the configuration of refrigeration units according to the new energy requirements.
